The Central Weather Administration is warning that northern mountain areas
could receive up to 900 millimeters of rain over the next four days as Super

Forecasters say the heaviest rainfall is expected in the mountains of New
Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu and Miaoli from this evening through Sunday.

New Taipei City's lowland areas could receive as much as 700 millimeters of

The weather agency says Bavi is expected to pass over waters north of Taiwan,
with the most severe conditions forecast from Friday night through Saturday.

Strong winds will also intensify on Friday, with Penghu expected to see Force
8 to 9 gusts during the first half of the day, while western Taiwan and
Yilan's coastal areas will see winds gradually strengthen later.

A land typhoon warning is expected to be issued during early hours Friday.

The CWA mid-afternoon issued a sea warning for the Bashi Channel and waters
off the northeast and southeast of Taiwan ... uring ships to exercise extreme
caution.
