Keelung Says Affected Convenience Store Foods No Longer on Shelves

Keelung health officials say 80 convenience store food products linked to the case of contaminated cooking oil are no longer available for sale.
The products included ready-to-eat items such as tuna rice balls that were produced using the affected soybean oil between April 13th and April 19th.
Officials stressed that all of the products were fresh foods with short shelf lives and had either been sold and consumed before their expiration dates or removed from shelves after expiring.
They said none of the affected items are currently available at convenience stores.
The statement came after the Food and Drug Administration yesterday released a list of 232 products connected to the contaminated oil case.
Keelung authorities have suggested the agency include expiration dates or additional notes in future public lists to help prevent confusion among consumers.
