Taipei Formosa Plastics ExHeadquarters Sinkhole

A construction site at Formosa Plastics Group's former headquarters in
Taipei's Songshan District experienced a minor ground collapse and gas leak
earlier today.

The company confirms that the incident occurred at a redevelopment project
near Dunhua North Road, where the company's old office building is being
demolished and rebuilt.

A Formosa Plastics executive says a wall at the construction site suffered a
minor collapse, and because a gas pipeline runs alongside the site, some gas
escaped as a result.

The company says emergency response measures were activated immediately...

and it will provide a fuller explanation of the cause and details of the
incident together with the general contractor once the situation has been
assessed.
