Changhua Recalls Taishan Cooking Oils Linked to Contamination Case

Changhua health officials say Tai-sun Enterprise has completed the removal of
all salad and blended cooking oils in the county ...

... after a batch of soybean salad oil supplied to the company was found to
be contaminated with a cancer-causing substance.

The Changhua County Public Health Bureau confirmed today that the recalled
products were pulled from the market on Thursday (July 2nd) ...

... bringing the total amount secured to nearly 11 metric tons.

The bureau said the recall follows the Food and Drug Administration requiring
manufacturers to remove affected salad oils and blended oils until their
safety can be confirmed.

Officials added that 150 kilograms of affected products from the other two
companies supplied with the contaminated oil — Fwusow Industry and Formosa
Oilseed Processing — have also been recalled in Changhua County.
