Václav Havel Airport in Prague says that Taiwanese travelers remain eligible to use its eGate system, despite a change in how countries are represented at eGate displays.
The airport's clarification came after Taiwanese travelers visiting Prague noticed in mid-June that Taiwan's flag had been removed from the eGate displays, although the country code "TW" remained.
In a response to CNA's inquiry, a spokesperson said the update will remove all flags and move to a text-only display of countries eligible to use the system that expedites exit from the Czech Republic.
She added that the display list is set to be expanded next week to include more eligible countries that aren't considered high-risk.
She didn't explain the reason for the initial removal of just the ROC flag.
Prague's Airport opened its eGate system on May 15 to eligible travelers from Taiwan, the United Kingdom, Japan and South Korea ... departing for destinations outside the Schengen Area.
