This evening,

Forecasters are warning that strong afternoon thunderstorms could bring
intense, short-duration downpours to parts of northern, central and southern
Taiwan

Extremely heavy rain advisories cover southern parts of New Taipei and the
whole of Taoyuan City in the north ...

... as well as mountaineous areas of Nantou and Yunlin counties in the centre
... and all of Chiayi County further south.

Meanwhile, localized heavy rain is possible in other parts of New Taipei,
Chiayi City, and mountainous areas stretching from Hsinchu to Taichung, as
well as parts of Tainan, Kaohsiung and Yilan.
