Manufacturing business sentiment in May highest since March 2025

Business confidence in Taiwan's manufacturing sector improved in May,
reaching its highest level since March 2025.

The Taiwan Institute of Economic Research says its manufacturing composite
index rose from 14.03 in April to 15.75 in May.

The institute says the increase was driven by strong global demand for
semiconductors, electronic components and other products linked to artificial
intelligence.

It also says easing tensions in the Middle East and lower oil prices helped
improve business sentiment.

Looking ahead, TIER says uncertainty remains over global trade policies and
geopolitical developments, but continued investment in AI infrastructure is
expected to support Taiwan's manufacturing sector.
