Kaohsiung announces flood relief payments

The Kaohsiung City Government has announced a series of relief measures
following days of heavy rains, that have inundated several districts.

According to city officials, it is offering subsidies of up to 35,000 N-T for
residential and commercial premises that were flooded by 50-centimeters of
water or more ..

... and 10,000 N-T in financial assistance for residential and commercial
premises flooded with less than 50-centimeters of water.

City officials say an additional 10,000 N-T will be provided to owners of all
flooded premises for damage to electrical appliances.

The city's relief measures are in addition to the central government's
providing 20,000 N-T subsidies for homes or businesses that were flooded by
50-centimeters of water or more.

The Kaohsiung City Government also says it has implemented a compensation
program for vehicles damaged by flooding.
