Tsai claims Taiwan has strong support in Italian parliament

Former President Tsai Ing-wen has taken to Facebook to says her visit to the Italian Senate last week showed growing momentum in Taiwan’s exchanges with Italy.
Tsai traveled to Italy to attend the Global Women Leaders Summit and says she meet with lawmakers from both governing and opposition parties there.
Tsai also held talks with the deputy speaker of the Italian Senate
Taking to Facebook, Tsai said the visit allowed her to explain the pressures facing Taiwan, the Indo-Pacific, and democratic countries.
Tsai also said that European interest in Taiwan has expanded in recent years and the island is now being increasingly seen for its role in technology, democratic governance, women’s leadership, and resilient supply chains, rather than solely as international hotspot.
According to Tsai, more Italian lawmakers across party lines are now paying attention to Taiwan and supportive of closer ties.
