Belgium beat New Zealand 5-1 at the World Cup, securing its place atop Group
G.

Iran appeared to score in injury time to put them up 2-1 against Egypt, which
would have upset the latter's hopes of ending in second place in Group G. But
the goal was disallowed by a VAR offside ruling. Both countries are likely to
go through to tournament play.

In other World Cup action from the past day, France beat Norway 4-1, Senegal
demolished Iraq 5-0 and Spain got past Uruguay 1-0.

Cape Verde, meanwhile, has completed an improbable run through the group
stage with a third straight World Cup draw. This time against Saudi Arabia.
