The American Institute in Taiwan is reminding US citizens that now is the time to prepare for November's midterm elections.
All US citizens can vote in federal elections to fill US House and Senate seats.
And they may be able to vote in local elections in their home states, too.
The first step is for US citizens to register in their home state, and to request an overseas absentee ballot.
The federal web site www.fvap.gov can help American voters, directing them to their respective state offices to complete registration and ballot requests.
Voters can return registration applications and ballots via mail ... or they can drop them off at AIT's Taipei or Kaohsiung offices.
Materials dropped off at AIT need US postage, or a postage-free return envelope.
AIT warns that transit times can take up to three weeks, so act early to ensure your vote is counted.
US midterm elections are on November 3rd this year.
