Cape Verde earns spot in World Cup knockout round with draw vs Saudi Arabia

Cape Verde has completed an improbable run through the group stage with a
third straight World Cup draw.

It's the smallest-ever country to earn a spot in the knockout round ...
following a scoreless tie against Saudi Arabia.

Its three draws were enough to earn it second place after Spain in Group H.

Spain won its match against Uruguay 1-0.

Earlier, France pummeled Norway 4-1. Mbappe was scoreless, but he had two
assists as teammate Dembele scored three goals in the first half. Both teams
advance to the knockout round.

Senegal beat Iraq 5-nil and could face England in tournament play.
