The New Taipei District Court was expected to decide today whether Airlee Group President Chang Ju-shan (常如山) should remain in custody after prosecutors indicted him yesterday ...
... over hidden camera allegations at cosmetic clinics.
Prosecutors have charged Chang and six others with secretly recording customers at multiple clinic branches and are seeking a prison sentence of at least 14 years for Chang.
Chang and two other suspects were transferred to the court this morning after spending nearly two months in detention.
Investigators allege cameras disguised as smoke detectors were installed in consultation rooms to secretly record customers changing clothes or exposing intimate body parts.
Police say they identified 99 alleged victims, including four minors, and believe the suspects attempted to remove cameras and recording equipment after the scheme was uncovered.
