The High Speed Rail Corporation has issued an apology to passengers for power outage late late night that caused delays to four trains.
The network operator says a brief power outage occurred between Taoyuan and Hsinchu at 11:24PM, and power was restored at 11:29PM - causing delays of approximately 5 minutes to the four affected trains.
The apology came after several passengers took to social media to say their trains suddenly stopped and the all the lights and air conditioning went out.
While other passengers said they were in a northbound train while passing through the Hsinchu section when the incident occured and it was "terrifying."
Last night's incident occured a month after the High Speed Rail line experienced a signal problem on a section of track near Miaoli on May 25 that forced the cancellation and rescheduling of trains for that entire day.
