Teng, Lee stage first ever Taiwanese player-vs.-player MLB matchup

In local sports news,

Houston Astros right-hander Teng Kai-wei (鄧愷威) and Detroit Tigers infielder
Lee Hao-yu (李灝宇) made Major League Baseball history yesterday by becoming the
first Taiwanese pitcher and batter to face each other in an MLB game.

The pair matched up twice, with Teng striking out Lee in their first
encounter before Lee responded with a base hit the second time.

Lee finished with two hits and the first stolen base of his Major League
career as Detroit defeated Houston 9-3.

Despite taking the loss, Teng recorded a career-high nine strikeouts and
became only the fourth Taiwanese pitcher to reach 100 career strikeouts in
the majors.
