Somaliland representative office gets new address

In a show of improving relations, the Somaliland Representative Office in
Taiwan has moved to a new location in Tianmu's Diplomatic Quarter.

Somaliland's Representative -- Mahmoud Adam Jama Galaal -- says the move will
improve his country's diplomatic operations in Taiwan.

Galaal also praised the progress Taiwan has made on the international stage,
despite limited recognition.

Somaliland has been a self-governing state in East Africa since declaring
independence from Somalia in 1991.

Nevertheless, it's restricted diplomatically, with much of the international
community withholding recognition of its independence.

Taiwan's Deputy Foreign Minister Francois Wu said the new location
"symbolizes the staunch and cordial ties between the two nations."
