Construction Begins on Nantou's First Indoor Sports Complex

Construction has officially begun on Nantou County's first large-scale indoor
sports complex.

The Nantou Lohas Sports Pavilion is being built on the site of the county's
former council building in Nantou City ... and is expected to open by the end
of 2028.

The facility will include a fitness center, multi-purpose sports areas,
indoor courts for basketball, volleyball and badminton, table tennis
facilities, a climbing wall and a dance studio.

County officials say the project has a total budget of 500 million NT — 20
percent of which is being funded by the Ministry of Sports.

The complex is designed to provide year-round recreational facilities for
residents of all ages and to support school athletics programs.

Officials also hope it will encourage greater participation in sports among
seniors and disadvantaged groups.
