The Presidential Office has put forward its nominees to lead the Control
Yuan.

For the position of Control Yuan President, they're nominating Chen
Yongxing陳永興.

Chen is the former president of the Taiwan Association for Human Rights.

They're also naming Wang Rong Zhang 王榮璋, who currently serves as committee
member, to take over as vice president.

In a press conference this morning, Vice President Hsiao Bikhim said, the
nominations aimed to work towards a Control Yuan "of the people."

Hsiao says, President Lai Ching-te's main considerations in putting together
the roster included range of expertise, human rights record, and local
connections.

She also announced the names of 27 others who've been tapped to serve as
committee members, with 6 year terms.

6 of the nominees currently serve as committee members.

The remarks come as longtime Control Yuan President Chen Chu announced that
she would retire, and the term limits of others approach next month.

The nominations now head to the legislature.
