DPP recommends Zheng Chao Fang to run in Hsinchu

The DPP is nominating Zhubei Mayor Zheng Chao Fang to run for Hsinchu
Magistrate.

That's after the DPP's election committee convened this morning.

If he is confirmed by the DPP's Central Committee, Zheng will face the KMT's
Hsu Hsin Ing in November.

Zheng previously ran for the post back in 2018.

As for who the DPP will run to take over for Zheng in Zhubei, committee
member Chen Pei Yu says, the Hsinchu County party offices are working on that
nomination.

Chen also said that the party was still working on nominees for the remaining
Kinmen, Lienchiang, and Hualien counties, as well as Penghu, where the
incumbent magistrate remains hospitalized.

The announcement comes after there have been media reports indicating that
the DPP was attempting to convince Zheng to run, but that he was not
interested.
