Chiayi Sports Coach Indicted for Alleged Sexual Abuse of Student

The Chiayi District Prosecutors Office has indicted a male school sports
coach accused of molesting a minor student.

Prosecutors say the coach, surnamed Lin, allegedly engaged in a series of
inappropriate acts during training trips, competitions and other team
activities between August and September of 2024.

They say the incidents included unwanted hugging, touching and other physical
contact with the student.

Lin has denied the allegations.

Investigators say the evidence includes testimony from multiple witnesses,
counseling records, findings from a school investigation and gender-equity
committee, and LINE message records.

Lin has been charged with committing indecent acts through the abuse of
authority.
