Lawmaker indicted on corruption charges

Taipei prosecutors have indicted independent lawmaker Gao Jin Su Mei on
corruption charges.

She allegedly took 7.87 million NT in fraudulent assistant fees...

while her assisstant is accused of taking even more.

Prosecutors indicted Gao Jin and 23 others in the case today, requesting at
least 12 and a half years behind bars for Gao Jin...

and 16 years for the assistant surnamed Zhang.

Investigators carried out searches back in February related to the case, and
brought Gao Jin and others in for questioning.
