VP Hsiao sets off for 5-day visit to Palau

Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) has departed for a visit to Palau, one of
Taiwan's three Pacific allies.

She said her mission is to deepen bilateral ties, promote local tourism and
review the results of development projects guided by Taiwan.

The projects Hsiao referenced are in the fields of healthcare, fisheries,
agriculture and public infrastructure.

Her delegation includes Deputy Minister of Health and Welfare Lin Ching-yi
(林靜怡) and Deputy Foreign Minister Ge Baushuan (葛葆萱)

This is the vice president's first overseas visit since she assumed office in
May 2024.
