Government Proposes Possible Death Penalty for "Zombie Vape" Drug Offenses

Manufacturing, selling or transporting the drug commonly used in "zombie vapes" could soon carry the death penalty under a government plan to curb drugged-driving.
Under one of the 14 proposed measures, 'etomidate' would be re-classified as a Category One narcotic, placing it in Taiwan's most serious drug category.
Premier Cho Jung-tai announced the proposals after a Cabinet meeting on drug prevention efforts.
The government is also proposing criminal penalties for making, importing, selling or supplying e-cigarettes ... as well as fines for those found in possession of them.
The package would also tighten online advertising restrictions for the products.
