Rubio: proposed arms sale to Taiwan under review, not "paused"

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is emphasizing that a proposed arms sale to
Taiwan is "under review," not "paused."

Speaking at a hearing in the U.S. Senate, Rubio said the arms package is
still being processed within the administration.

He said that the packag "continues to be under review as it's being
processed."

That's after a top miltiary official siad that they were "pausing" the
paclage.

But Rubio said that the package is significant in scale and consequence and
this requires careful review.

He again emphasized that US policy toward Taiwan has not changed, despite
comments made by the US president following a meeting between him and his
Chinese counterpart.
