Four Taiwanese monitored after Ebola-area travel
Posted on 2026-06-02 17:20:13
The Centers for Disease Control says four Taiwanese nationals are under
health monitoring after returning from Ebola outbreak areas.

Two entered Taiwan from Uganda, and two entered from the Democratic Republic
of the Congo.

CDC Director-General Lo Yi-chun says one had a mild fever the day after
arrival.

But the person tested negative for Ebola and was discharged today.

Since May 27, travelers from the two countries must complete 21 days of
self-health management.

Starting today, Taiwan has also suspended entry for residents of the two
countries for 90 days.

Officials say the DRC has reported 321 confirmed Ebola cases and 48 deaths.

The CDC says the four Taiwanese nationals must report symptoms daily and take
their temperature twice a day.
