Labor funds post record April returns

Taiwan's labor funds posted record gains in April, helped by a strong rebound
in local and global markets.

The Bureau of Labor Funds says the funds recorded about 1.1 trillion NT in
gains.

That broke the previous record of 418.4 billion NT set in February.

The rebound came after the funds lost 378.7 billion NT in March.

Officials linked April's gains to stronger investor confidence, AI enthusiasm
and hopes for a U.S.-Iran ceasefire.

The funds had total gains of 1.15 trillion NT in the first four months of the
year.

That equals a return of just over 20 percent.

The bureau says more gains may be possible in May, after Taiwan shares rose
about 10 percent.
