Ximending to go smoke-free on June 1

Authorities will start imposing fines ranging from 2,000 to 10,000 NT on
people who smoke in Ximending on Monday.

It's part of Taipei's "smoke-free city" policy.

If you're heading to the nightlife and shopping area, keep your cigarettes
sheathed or face the penalty in all pedestrian areas as well as in front of
Ximen MRT Exit 4.

There is a so-called negative pressure smoking room behind that same exit for
those who need to feed their habit while in Ximending... and another outside
the Watsons on Wuchang Street.
