Chinese authorities have executed a man for poisoning a billionaire gaming tycoon linked to the Netflix production of “The Three-Body Problem.”
Xu Yao was previously found guilty of poisoning Lin Qi, the founder of the Shanghai-based Yoozoo Games, which holds the film adaptation rights for the blockbuster trilogy.
The Hugo Award-winning sci-fi trilogy by Chinese author Liu Cixin has been translated into more than 40 languages and adapted into television and game productions including the Netflix series released in 2024.
Xu was the former head of a subsidiary of Yoozoo Games.
He poisoned Lin in December 2020 over Lin sidelining him after he had helped land the Netflix deal, local media reported.
