Taichung opens next planning stage for proposed airport MRT line

Taichung is moving ahead with plans for its proposed Orange Airport MRT Line
...

... as the city government opens public review for the next stage of project
planning and design.

The planned line would begin at Taichung International Airport and run
through districts including Daya, Xitun, Beitun, North, East, South, Dali and
Wufeng.

City officials say the project moved closer to the detailed planning stage
after the Ministry of Transportation and Communications resubmitted the
proposal to the Executive Yuan for review earlier this year.

The Orange Line is expected to stretch about 29 kilometers, with 26 stations,
including both elevated and underground stops.

Officials say the route is designed not only to improve transportation links
to the airport, but also to support broader urban development and boost the
city's competitiveness.
