The DPP is discouraging speculation over a pending arms sale from the US.
That's after the presidential office downplayed reports that a US military official said that DC was stalling the package to ensure it had sufficient weaponry for use in Iran.
The 14 billion US dollar sale was first reported on in Febuary.
The DPP legislative caucus says, they hope the public won't use the issue as a pretext for what they called "anti US sentiment."
Caucus secretary general Zhuang Rui Xiong added that the US' focus on Iran goes to show how important it is for Taiwan to build up its own domestic defense industry.
