The National Human Rights Museum held a ceremony today marking May 19th White Terror Memorial Day.
At the event, officials renewed calls to protect sites linked to Taiwan's transitional justice efforts and continue confronting the truth about past political persecution.
Culture Minister Li Yuan said the ministry will continue advancing four major policy initiatives, including legislation to preserve locations associated with political repression.
Li said efforts are also underway to open political archives and the Taiwan Human Rights Memory Bank ... allowing the public to better understand the White Terror era.
