Residents near Taitung's Kangle station can expect to see Taiwan Railways' Ziqiang trains stopping at the station starting in July.
DPP lawmaker and magisterial candidate Chen Ying announced today that the decision was made after negotiations with the TRC.
Residents near Kangle had been hoping to see the improved TRC trains stop at the station, which provides service to 7 villages nearby.
Without the changes, residents have to go further to Taitung city or Zhiben Station for a trip to northern Taiwan.
Chen says today that the change will not only be more convenient for local residents, but will also make tourism to the National Museum of Prehistory more smooth as well.
The 441 and 402 train services will begin from July 1st.
