Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung will be attending events organized by the government and N-G-O's in Geneva this week to coincide with the upcoming World Health Assembly.
Lin is Taiwan's first top diplomat to have visited the Swiss city during the annual meeting of the global health body.
The foreign minister says he has already attended two events there with Health Minister Shih Chung-liang.
Lin took part in an annual symposium organized by the European Federation of Taiwan Health Alliance and a banquet hosted by the health ministers and permanent representatives of allied nations in Geneva.
The traveling diplomat said although Taiwan was not invited to participate in the W-H-A again this year, it has never been absent from the critical moments whenever the global public health system needs Taiwan.
Taiwan's representative office in Geneva, says Lin and Shih also held a press event on Sunday to release a government-produced promotional video calling for Taiwan's inclusion in the W-H-A.
The 79th W-H-A is scheduled to take place in Geneva from today through Sunday.
