Trump says patience with Iran is running out

U.S. President Donald Trump says his patience with Iran is running out.

Trump spoke as he flew back from Beijing after talks with Chinese President
Xi Jinping.

He says he and Xi agreed that Iran must reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

But Trump says he did not ask China for any favors.

China says the conflict should never have happened and has no reason to
continue.

Iran says it has received messages from Washington about continuing talks.

But Tehran says it does not trust the U.S. and is also ready for more
fighting.

The strait is a key route for global energy shipments, and oil prices rose on
concern over the lack of progress.
