Support for same-sex marriage in Taiwan rises in new survey

Support for same-sex marriage in Taiwan has risen to 54-point-3 percent,
according to a new survey.

The Taiwan Equality Campaign says that is up 12 percentage points from seven
years ago, when same-sex marriage became legal.

Support for transnational same-sex marriage reached 63 percent, while support
for joint adoption by same-sex couples rose to 67-point-2 percent.

The survey also found record support for gender equality education at 75
percent.

Nearly 60 percent of respondents also backed assisted reproduction rights for
female same-sex couples.

The group is urging lawmakers to move faster on proposed legal changes.

The survey also found growing support for LGBTQ-plus people holding public
office and for LGBTQ-friendly workplaces.
