Junior high exam faces high temperatures in southern Taiwan

The junior high school entrance exam is taking place today and tomorrow, as
southern Taiwan faces hot weather.

The Central Weather Administration has issued a yellow high-temperature
warning for Tainan, Kaohsiung and Pingtung.

It says people should watch for temperatures of 36 degrees Celsius or higher.

Weather expert Wu Der-rong says the weather is improving as a front moves
south to the Bashi Channel.

He says eastern Taiwan may see some showers, while central and southern areas
may see afternoon thunderstorms.

Wu says southern Taiwan could reach 36 degrees today, and tomorrow will feel
like summer.

He says the weather will stay mostly stable and hot through next week.
