Taiwan Railway Adds 116 Services for Dragon Boat Festival Holiday

Taiwan Railway Corporation says it will add 116 extra train services to
handle increased passenger demand during the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival
holiday.

The additional trains will operate between June 18th and June 22nd, covering
routes across Taiwan, including extra east coast and cross-island services.

Tickets for the holiday period will go on sale starting midnight on the
morning of May 19th — which is this coming Tuesday at early hours.

Taiwan Railway also says real-name reservation services for eligible east
coast residents and their immediate family members will begin a day later.

The operator also announced that EMU-3000 trains on the western line will
temporarily suspend non-reserved seating during the holiday rush ...

... with 200 standing tickets to be sold on the day of travel instead.
