Russia directs large-scale missile attack on Kyiv

Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said today that a Russian missile
attack on a Kyiv apartment building yesterday killed 24 people, including
three children.

He wrote on X that emergency workers have finally finished digging through
the nine-storey building's rubble, after more than a day.

The cruise missile was part of what the Ukrainian air force said was Russia's
biggest barrage on the country since its all-out invasion began in February
2022.

Zelensky said that the assault mostly targeted the Ukrainian capital, where
48 people were wounded.

Kyiv marked an official day of mourning today.
