Meanwhile,
The foreign ministry is also responding today to China's latest move to block Taiwan's participation in the World Health Assembly … which opens in Geneva on Sunday.
MOFA says China's Foreign Ministry yesterday incorrectly invoked the so-called one China principle to claim Taiwan needs Beijing's approval to participate in international organizations.
The ministry called the remarks an attempt to suppress Taiwan's sovereignty and said they deserve strong condemnation.
MOFA says health is a fundamental human right that should not be subject to political interference, and that Taiwan has made significant contributions to global public health and pandemic prevention that are widely recognized.
It is urging the WHO to reject Beijing's political pressure, and promptly invite Taiwan to attend the World Health Assembly as an observer.
