Paraguay's President Santiago Pena has wrapped-up his first state visit to Taiwan with a meeting with former President Tsai Ing-wen.
Pena described Tsai "as great friend of Paraguay" and said they "reviewed the extraordinary bilateral agenda that unites the two countries and all they have built in these years of a solid and committed alliance."
Pena went on to say that the friendship has been exemplified by concrete cooperation projects and investments that have created opportunities for the Paraguayan people.
He didn't say when the meeting took place.
Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung accompanied Pena to the Southern Taiwan Science Park and the National Center for High-performance Computing in Tainan on Saturday ...
.. saying the visits gave the Paraguay president a first-hand understanding of Taiwan's achievements in artificial intelligence, computing, and technology governance.
Pena and his delegation left Taiwan for the Philippines on Sunday afternoon for the next stop of their regional trip.
