Foreign Ministry to resume mobile passport services in Taitung on May 15th

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it will resume mobile consular services in Taitung starting May 15th, after a more than year-long suspension caused by legislative budget cuts.
The Eastern Office's mobile passport service was halted in March last year after the Legislative Yuan cut operational funding for the Executive Yuan's Eastern Joint Service Center.
Starting May 15th, ministry staff will travel to Taitung on the 15th of every odd-numbered month to process passport renewals, replacements, and visa endorsements.
If the 15th falls on a holiday, the service will be moved to the next working day.
Number tickets will be distributed starting at 1 P-M, with service running until 3:30 P-M.
Applicants can download forms from the Bureau of Consular Affairs website or pick them up at the Taitung liaison office.
