Taiwan's AI Adoption Rate Surpasses U.S. and Germany

Taiwan has overtaken the United States and Germany in the adoption of
generative artificial intelligence.

According to new data from Microsoft, Taiwan's AI adoption rate reached
31-point-8 percent in the first quarter of 2026, placing it among the world's
top 20 economies for the first time.

That puts Taiwan slightly ahead of the U-S at 31-point-3 percent and Germany
at 31-point-1 percent.

The report says global use of generative AI continues to grow rapidly, with
nearly one in six workers worldwide now using AI tools on the job.

Among the fastest-growing markets, Asia dominated the rankings, with 12 of
the top 15 growth markets located in the region, including South Korea and
Japan.

Microsoft says advances in AI-powered coding tools are transforming software
development and helping drive a sharp increase in global code production.
