In news from and about Taiwan this morning,
C-S-B-C says the Navy's indigenous defense submarine prototype has conducted torpedo launch trials as part of its eighth round of dive tests.
According to the shipbuilder, the Narwhal fired two torpedoes during the weapon launch verification phase of its ongoing sea acceptance tests earlier this week.
C-S-B-C says the weapon launch verification phase was initiated with the aim of authenticating the Narwhal's combat capabilities in areas including combat system reconnaissance, analysis, and torpedo system launch and guidance.
C-S-B-C has released a short video showed the submarine prototype sailing out from the Port of Kaohsiung, accompanied by a number of support ships.
The Narwhal was originally scheduled to complete sea trials by November 2025, but the timeline was pushed back as it underwent final adjustments ahead of the submergence tests.
