KMT KH candidate breaks with Cheng on defense spending

The KMT's pick to lead Kaohsiung is breaking with party chair Zheng Li Wen on
defense spending.

Zheng said that most KMT lawmakers were in support of the proposed 380
billion " N" bill, but Ke Zhi En says today that the chair's understanding
differs from that of lawmakers.

Her comments come as some lawmakers appear to be hoping to have the budget
proposal coming in at about 800 billion NT, to include two rounds of arms
purchases from the US.

KMT Legislative Caucus Whip Fu Kun Chi notes that each version is still under
discussion.

This comes ahead of cross-partisan caucus discussions on the issue, set for
tomorrow.
