Taipei Zoo Leopard Cat Passes Away

Taipei Zoo is mourning the loss of a leopard cat named Xiao Mu, who passed
away earlier this month.

Keepers say Xiao Mu died on May1st at the age of 19 — making her the oldest
leopard cat the zoo had ever housed.

The zoo says she had long been managing spinal degeneration, bone spurs, and
degenerative arthritis, and had been living in a quieter rear enclosure since
2024.

Xiao Mu came to the zoo in 2018 through the Forestry and Nature Conservation
Agency's wildlife rescue and rehabilitation program, where she served as a
leopard cat conservation ambassador.
