Sanying MRT Line on Track for Mid-2026 Opening

New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yu-ih says the Sanying MRT Line could begin service
as early as mid-year.

Hou said the line will be submitted for final inspection by the Ministry of
Transportation and Communications later this month.

If approved, trains could start running soon after.

Once operational, the line is expected to cut commute times from Sanxia and
Yingge to Taipei by nearly 20 minutes.

City officials say the project includes seven joint development sites along
the route, five of which have already been awarded.

Three are under construction, with two others applying for building permits.

The developments are expected to bring in around 14 thousand new residents.
