Lawmaker calls for ATMs at Orchid Island and Green Island airports during

A ruling-party lawmaker is pushing for ATMs at two remote island airports in
Taitung County, saying they are the only outlying island airports in Taiwan
without them.

The call comes after D-P-P legislator Chen Ying (陳瑩) visited Orchid Island
(蘭嶼) yesterday to inspect ongoing renovation works at the local airport.

She noted that the nearest ATM to the airport is about 2.6 kilometers away,
creating hardship for travelers and residents needing cash.

Chen said the Civil Aeronautics Administration and Chunghwa Post have both
agreed to install ATMs in the new terminals.

The Orchid Island temporary terminal is nearing completion at a cost of
299-million NT, with Green Island's terminal due in June at 285-million NT.

Both permanent terminals are scheduled for completion in December 2027.
