Man who showered on local train, flooding carriage to be fined

A man who took a shower on a Taiwan Railway local train, flooding part of a
carriage, has been identified and will face a fine.

Railway police say the incident happened Sunday morning on a train traveling
from Hsinchu to New Taipei.

Passengers reported water leaking from a bathroom and spreading across the
carriage floor.

By the time officers boarded the train, the man had already left.

Police later identified him using surveillance footage as a man in his 50s.

Authorities say he used a hose in a multi-functional bathroom, typically
intended for cleaning, to shower.

The man is known to frequent Taipei Main Station and has previously faced
fraud-related charges.

The Railway Act mandates fines of up to $7,500 NT for various types of
inappropriate behavior on trains.
