MOE Subsidizes Foreign Teaching Assistant Program NT$83 Million

The Ministry of Education has announced an 83 million NT subsidy for its
'Foreign English Teaching Assistant Program' for the upcoming academic year.

As the name implies, the program aims to bring English native speaking
assistants into 611 elementary and junior high schools ...

... allowing students to practice English through interaction and cultural
exchange, rather than just traditional classroom learning.

The MOE adds that since the launch the program in the 2021–2022 academic
year, foreign teaching assistants have worked with local teachers to create
real-life English learning environments.

Examples include ordering food in English, outdoor learning activities, and
even bilingual sports and technology camps.

Education officials say these experiences help students build confidence and
connect with the world.
