Taiwan's industrial production was 28 percent higher this March compared to
last March, marking the 25th straight month of growth.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs says output reached a new record, driven
largely by strong global demand for AI and high-performance computing.

Manufacturing, which comprises the bulk of production, also hit a record
high, with semiconductor and electronics output leading the gains.

Production in the computer and optoelectronics sector saw especially strong
growth, fueled by global investment in cloud and AI infrastructure.

Officials say the impact of Middle East tensions has been limited so far,
with stable supply chains and continued overseas demand supporting growth.

However, some traditional industries, including chemicals, saw declines
amidst rising competition.

Looking ahead, authorities expect industrial production to continue expanding
in April, supported by ongoing demand in the tech sector.
